Recommendations of Regulation Improvements

Nature conservation with animals is covered by many rules, both legal and subsidy based. There may be rules regarding. ear tags, animal welfare, setting up shelters or rules regarding subsidy schemes.

The design of rules and administration practices are often crucial to whether nature conservation is attractive to a landowner or an animal owner. By removing several barriers that determine whether a landowner or an animal owner wants to undertake nature conservation, the incentive can be increased, and thereby more nature areas will be cared for.

The project, together with agriculture and competent authorities, will introduce accumulated experience and make recommendations for possible adjustment of the current rules in connection with nature conservation, where it may be appropriate to promote good nature conservation and a profitable economic farming.

It will be investigated how subsidy schemes and rules possibly can be adjusted to give the landowner / animal owners a greater incentive to carry out nature conservation in a longer term in a way that benefits nature.
