The morning was built around three different topics.
- Marianne Damholdt Bergin, Aarhus University / Danish Nature Agency talked about the possibilities and challenges of using GPS (collars and ear tags) on animals.
- Dan Poulsen gave a presentation on a "NoFence" experiment on Fanø, where an animal experiment was made with "virtual / invisible" fences.
- Sebastian Jensen, Nordjysk Dronecenter gave an insight into how to use drones in connection with the monitoring of animals, fences, and grazing areas.
The afternoon was i.a. used to inform animal keepers within Natureman's project areas about a 2-year trial starting from this grazing season. In the experiment, the individual animal owner undertakes to test the drone and / or gps in connection with the monitoring of his own animals. Data is collected that can generate knowledge about the usefulness of the technical aids in nature conservation. Before the experiment is started, a course is held at Nordjysk Dronecenter / Sandmoseskolen, where the participants are certified to fly a drone, and get help to set up the equipment for inspection of their own areas.
A total of 55 people participated in the theme day.
