Land Consolidation

Land consolidation

In the project areas there are many small plots. It is a remnant of past farming operations where farms had meadows and grasslands for grazing or haymaking. For today's agriculture, which is highly specialized, these areas are no longer in use.

In the project, land consolidation is used as a tool for gathering the ownership of natural areas which need management to larger, cohesiveareasforgrazingandharvesting ofgrass.

Land consolidation is also used to provide replacement areas for farms which have to abandon or extensify areas within the project area.

Land consolidation becomes relevant if the landowners in an area think it is a good idea. The land consolidation is carried out in collaboration with each landowner. The work is done by a consultant working with land consolidation.

It is optional if you want to participate in a land consolidation.

The project will work on finding new and better methods for carrying out land consolidation.
