In the LIFE IP Natureman the two municipalities have composed a catalog of potential projects in Sønderup Ådal, that will promote the condition of nature and the environment, and support nature conservation in the area. The projects will be attempted implemented in the coming years.
The project area is approx. 870 ha, where Sønderup stream is running through from south to north. The river valley consists of large areas with alkaline fens, nardus grasslands and thicket with common juniper, Juniperus communis.
The area is a part of Natura 2000-area nr. 15: Nibe Bredning, Halkær Ådal og Sønderup Ådal.
