The potential projects for Skals Ådalen at Hærup Sø has been summarized into a catalog by Viborg Municipality. The project will promote the state of nature and environment and support nature conservation in the area. The projects will be attempted implemented in the coming years.
The project area spans over approx. 1040 ha and focuses on linking small areas of alkaline fens and petrifying springs together, and improve the state of nature of these and the grasslands. Likewise, it will be attempted to establish desirable hydrology.
The area is a part of Natura 2000-area nr. 30: Lovns Bredning, Hjarbæk Fjord, Simested og Nørre Ådale samt Skravad Bæk.
