Viborg Municipality has composed a catalog of potential projects at Bredsgård Sø, that will be attempted implemented in the coming years. The project focuses on linking areas together, improve management and conservation of the areas, recreate petrifying springs, and extract carbonaceous lowland soils that contribute to CO2 contribution.
The project area is approx. 166 ha and consist of nardus grasslands, alkaline fens and petrifying springs, which are habitats for i.a. Saxifraga hirculus, Hamatocaulis vernicosus and Vertigo geyeri.
The area is part of Natura 2000-area nr. 38: Bredsgård Sø
