Natureman will test whether GPS Collars can Make Nature Management more Flexible

In the coming months, selected animals in cattle herds in Himmerland will receive a GPS collar around their necks to follow their movement in the nature areas.

Testing GPS collars on cattle

The GPS collars will send data to the National Board of Agriculture on where they graze and when. The purpose is to develop a control method that gives the farmer more flexibility when the animals need to graze the nature areas. The farmer is also given access to data, making it easier to oversee the grazing animals.

LIFE IP Natureman is working to increase interest in managing nature areas by making nature management a profitable business branch for the farmer. New technological solutions with GPS monitoring of the grazing animals will contribute to this.
