446 hectares of agricultural land are being extended to create larger continuous areas with nature within the Naturman project area

In 2018 and 2019, 27 areas within the project area of Natureman received grants from the Danish Environmental Protection Agency for permanent extensification of agricultural land.

The result is that 446 ha are no longer adversely affected by ploughing, fertilization and pesticides. However, the areas can still be cared for by moving hay and grazing. The new areas are located as buffer zones that protect the vulnerable nature and create green corridors on which wild plants and animals can spread between the habitat types. There is a special focus on creating larger contiguous areas with nature around petrifying spring, alkaline fens and grassland.
