Good support for continuing the work on a large lowland project in the Nørreå river valley south of Mollerup and Kvorning.

The area is located within the Life-IP Natureman project area in Viborg Municipality. At the request of a landowner in the area, the Danish Nature Agency wants to initiate a preliminary study to clarify the possibilities of carrying out a lowland project in the Nørreå river valley south of Mollerup and Kvorning. The study area is approx. 373 hectares.

On Tuesday evening October 29, 2019, the Danish Nature Agency Himmerland held an information meeting in Kvorning.

Martin Nissen Nørgård from the Danish Nature Agency briefed the approx. 35 attending landowners on the various options available in the lowland project. Hanne Stadsgaard Jensen from Viborg Municipality explained how the lowland project can be included as an element in Viborg Municipality's other plans for the area.

The municipality is working on opportunities for a Landscape Strategy for the Nørreå river valley, alongside the EU project LIFE-IP NATUREMAN, "The farmer as nature manager". Jesper Blaabjerg from the Agricultural Agency in Tønder reviewed how land consolidation is carried out in practice and the possibilities that lie within.

Subsequently, there was a dialogue with the landowners and there was support from landowners to proceed with the preliminary study.
