First joint training day for consultants who want to advise on nature conservation in the LIFE project Natureman.

On October 10, 2019, LIFE IP Natureman held the first joint training day for consultants at the North Jutland Agricultural School. Participation in the training day is a requirement for the consultants who wish to be admitted to the “List scheme regarding the counselling of private farmers, nature managers and foresters as part of the Life IP Natureman project”.

In total, 15 consultants from 9 different consultancy companies participated as well as employees from the participating municipalities and the Danish Nature Agency. The program for the day was organized in collaboration with SEGES.

SEGES facilitating the day with inspirational presentations on:

  • Biodiversity - how is biodiversity efforts prioritized?
  • Natural state indicators - how to take the "temperature" on nature? How can you see if the management effort works?
  • Choosing grazing strategies - what works for biodiversity?
  • Examples of economics in nature conservation

During the day group work was facilitated with inspiration from the presentations given by SEGES. This led to many professional discussions, in which the advisers, the Danish Nature Agency and the municipal staff had great opportunities to exchange views and become wiser on nature management seen in a biodiversity context.
