Denmark's largest low-land project of 140 ha has been established in Nørreådalen near Viborg.

The low-land project "Heltzen Pumpelag and Enge" in Nørreådalen east of Viborg is a climate project which will withhold 3450 tonnes of CO2 equivalents annually. The project will simultaneously reduce nitrogen and phosphorus emissions, thereby providing better conditions for animals and plants in Randers Fjord. The Nature Agency has carried out the project in collaboration with the municipality of Viborg.
